And then my wicked smiley but frighteningly jacked trainer, Renee, said – in the sweetest voice that sounded to my ears a bit like Ariel in The Little Mermaid – “I just wanted you to get the hang of it with 100, 110 pounds…” (as if that ten pounds made not a lick of difference in her world) “We’ll add more now that you’re used to it.”

Now that I’m used to it?

Huh.

My screaming legs and lungs and heart and sweat glands didn’t sound or feel used to it.

And I think Renee might have heard them – or my mouth – explain just that.

I think, by the end of this ‘trial’ (in my eyes) month, I may be relegated to the category of…

“Management Challenge”.

Eh, wouldn’t be the first time.
