… on the defining trait of extroverts
September 20, 2015
I have posted many times about how HRH The Princess Bunny Blaze loves to have her photo taken.
And how Marshal Dillon Dingle photobombs her photos, on purpose, and then Blaze gets growl-y and then I have to pause and deal with the ensuing altercation.
Like after the photo up top?
This:
But I have been taking pics of these ShepHerds for a long time now, and I have noticed a few things along the way.
First, allow me to explain that it is very clear that Blaze is an introvert.
I know this because I googled ‘introvert’ and I learned a whole lot of things about myself, and Blaze.
For instance we both hate small talk, which is something that introverts tend to hate.
I tested this out just now.
I said, “Blaze, what do you think of the weather?” and she walked away.
So. There’s that.
Also, on weekends, she often doesn’t like to change out of her pajamas either.
So today, as I was hanging out with her – after we shoo’d Marshal Dillon Dingle away so Blaze would have a few good shots to choose from later – we got to talking about extroverts and things got deep.
Because if there is something that we introverts are very keen on, it is a deep discussion about a topic we are interested in (with maybe one other person (or dog) but that’s all).
So Blaze and I were trying to nail down the traits of extroverts.
I did most of the talking.
We were all “Well, they are louder than we are.”
“And they actually seem to like being around people…”
“Also, they like to work in groups” (that was when we both visibly shuddered and needed to take a break).
But then Blaze looked to her right – over toward where Marshal Dillon Dingle was supposed to be resting comfortably in a ‘Down. Stay.” – and it was pretty clear that she’d nailed it. And I knew this because she had that ‘What the…” look that precedes a major judgement call on her part.
Yep.
She’d come up with the trait that defined, absolutely and totally, all extroverts.
Extroverts are..
Blurry.
Not enough for you? Okay…
Still?
Fine.
But then I thought, “Well, wait a sec, Blaze. If your theory is right, then if I take a picture of both of you together, I should be able to tell the difference between the introvert and the extrovert…” And before I could finish she indicated that I should pick up my camera and so I did and Blaze told Marshal to act as introverted as he could possibly act (and also try to smile).
Still blurry compared to Blaze (her theory is that extroverts vibrate.)
Then, she said “At ease.” (or something like that, I couldn’t make it out really) and she picked up her ball to go hang out and recharge her batteries by herself (introvert!), and then this happened:
Which clinches the whole theory, doesn’t it?
One pic.
Two dogs.
One introvert, clear and thoughtful.
And one extrovert, impulsive and social and exceedingly verbal…
And blurry.
One more for end all, be all proof:
Annnnnnd…. thanks for readin’.
