… on maine whispers

Maine Whispers
If whispers had wings,
And carrying things,
They’d drop fog
Softly into my cove
To silently wander
Hither and yonder
Haunted breath
Without tethers would rove
Over mastheads and spruce
Compelled to seduce
All it touched
All it kissed, all it loved
Caressing each rose
O’er rocky shore flows
And I’d pause
Gazing down from above
This fog I’d not trade
For a warm, sunny day
On the sands
Of Caribbean seas
Nope.
This grey I’ll embrace
As the fog leaves its trace
on my heart
Salt and pine in its breeze.
