… on sensing the light

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Late August

The other day I headed outside because the light was calling me.

The light I could see.

The world crunched beneath my bare feet.

The light I could hear.

And I felt warmth on my face, but when I reached out my hand it felt cool.

The light I could touch.

And then I opened my mouth and tasted the salt, the pine, and something else…

The light I could taste.

And then?

Then I smelled it, and I knew.

I was wrong…

it wasn’t the light.

And a smile found its way onto my face, and it spread itself wide, as I hugged the dawn of an idea.

Fall.

It’s coming…

Thanks for readin’.
