Late Snow

This morning we woke up to an early spring snow.

And I thought, ‘Oy. I need to shovel…”

And then… “Oh, and maybe go to the store…”

And “I wonder if Granny has enough food…”

“Jack has to drive home later…”

“I’ll make a fire, and we can have eggs, and is the electricity on? Yes? Good. And I wonder if Gabe knew there was no school or did he have to wake up and…”

And then I looked into two pairs of eyes.

And I smiled.

And I motioned for them to follow me downstairs, and I stepped into the boots I nearly put away last week when it was 70 degrees outside.

And I nabbed my camera on the way by…

And they taught me, once again, to just take life as it comes.

And hang out with joy, any time we can.
